I'm a cyber security specialist with around 15 years of experience helping organisations understand and defend against the threats that actually keep CISOs up at night. By day I work on the vendor side, protecting some of the world's largest organisations from real-world attacks. Outside of that, I write books, make videos, and try to make cyber security make sense — for everyone. I believe the biggest problem in security isn't the technology. It's communication. Too much of the industry talks to itself, in acronyms, for an audience that already agrees. I'd rather explain a phishing attack using a pub analogy than a MITRE ATT&CK matrix — not because the matrix isn't useful, but because most people will never read it.
