Cyber security is difficult.

It's difficult for non-technical people to cut through the acronyms and military language to understand the scope of the problem and how to protect themselves.

It's difficult for technical people to filter through the news, advisories, blog posts, vendor sales pitches and mainstream news to understand what they need to do to defend themselves.

It's difficult for defenders to protect you without making life difficult.

It should be difficult for bad actors. But it isn't.

Effective defence comes when you can anticipate your attackers’ moves.

End users don't think they'll be hacked, that they aren't important enough, that their data holds no value, but that simply isnt the case.

The fact is that everyone knows someone that's been hacked and stolen from, the question is whether they know it or not.

This video series is a guide to show how easy it can be for bad actors to carry out basic attacks with potentially devastating effects. By putting yourself in the mindset of an attacker you can think about how you can better defend yourself.

Cyber security concepts can be tricky to understand, so I've translated them into language most people can relate to... ordering a drink!

Swap beer for coffee, juice or whisky and the fundamental concepts remain the same.
